About Us
With a calming seaside exterior and a haven of contemporary decor inside, Poetic License Bar is the perfect place to come whatever the occasion. We’re fortunate enough to have one of the biggest beer gardens in Sunderland, a range of indoor seating, a patio area, and if you’d like to make a weekend of it we’re directly adjacent to the wonderful Roker Hotel.

Our bar manager is forever using his vast knowledge and experience to come up with new and wonderful cocktails for you to enjoy. He and his senior bar staff are always on the lookout for cutting edge tipples; from the sweet and eclectic, to the good old classics and everything in between!
If that’s not enough, we have daily deal hours on between 2pm – 6pm on Monday, and 5pm – 7pm from Tuesday until Sunday, finished off with our Big Red Poetic Button hour for an hour afterwards where after each round you’re in with a chance of winning it for free!
